Four 128-tonne, converter-transformers have been delivered from China to ITER, the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, located in Saint-Paul-lès-Durance.

These are the first of a set of 16 transformers to be installed in the twin Magnet Power Converter Buildings.

The transformers will be paired to a rectifier and will bring the 66 kV AC industrial current down to approximately 1 kV.
