AfDB authorizes $14.57M distribution network loan in South Sudan

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has made agreed to make a supplementary loan of U.S. $14.57 million in order to repair and upgrade the distribution networks in the South Sudan capital of Juba.

The project will consist of the purchase and installation of 195 transformer stations, as well as the construction of 145 km of 33 kV lines, and 370 km of 415/230 volt lines.

The AfDB explained, that the project will strengthen Juba’s electricity networks and provide more reliable supply. The loan will cover the budget deficit of the project that was granted four years ago.
