Up to 32 substations have been commissioned in Qatar in 2017, according to a statement from the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa).

With a total of 320 substations now open across the country, Qatar also now has a total power capacity of 10,170 MW.

In the run-up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar has been installing new power stations to link to stadiums. More than 1,000 distribution stations were opened last year.
