Kentucky utility fined over 2017 lineman death

Paducah, Kentucky electric utility Jackson Purchase Energy Corp. has been fined U.S. $20,000 for safety violations in relation to the electrocution death of a company lineman in January 2017.

The Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) issued the order on January 3, 2018, saying it had found eight separate safety violations and assessed the maximum penalty of U.S. $2,500 for each violation.

Jackson Purchase as 30 days to pay the fine.
