Gary Camacho, Executive Director of Commonwealth Utilities Corporation, has said they have replaced 63 distribution transformers on commercial accounts.

The power division had completed 51 of 63 distribution transformer downsizes as of January 31.

The project aimed to reduce line losses across the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and cost $382,000, according to Camacho. Funding for the downsizing came from the U.S. Department of Agriculture High Energy Cost Grant

Line losses recorded by the CUC in January were 5.49% on Saipan, 19.53% on Tinian, and 19.03% on Rota.
