The Asian Development Bank (ADB), along with the government of Afghanistan, has inaugurated a new power distribution network in southwest of the country’s capital city of Kabul.

More than 200,000 people, who did not have access to electricity before, will now be provided with more efficient and reliable electricity.

ADB financed the project with U.S. $45 million as part of its U.S. $570 million Energy Sector Development Investment Program.
