Two young boys electrocuted in substation
Two young boys were found dead after allegedly playing in a substation in Tambov, Russia.
The bodies of the two boys, aged 7 and 10 years, were found on Tuesday, March 24, according to the regional Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR).
According to investigators, a staff member climbed onto the roof of the substation during an evening bypass and discovered the victims. The preliminary cause of death was electric shock.
Investigators believed the children were playing hide and seek near an electrical substation and at some point through the hole in the fence entered the territory. They climbed on the roof of transformers and accidentally touch parts under voltage.
TFR has provided a video, showing the site of the accident to investigators and forensics. They interrogate the representatives of power supplying organization, as well as relatives and friends of the victims.
Investigators opened a criminal case under article 109 of the criminal code (“Causing death on imprudence”).
