New E.DIS substation planned in Beeskow

German energy provider E.DIS has planned a new substation for the town of Beeskow in Brandenburg.
In order to be able to include the increasing amounts of renewable energy in the E.DIS network, the energy service provider is building a completely new substation on the outskirts of the district town. Work on this began last autumn and is expected to be completed in the summer of this year.
The substation currently under construction is to be equipped with two transformers of 31.5 megawatts each. For the installation of a further third transformer, an area is already being planned and reserved for construction. The new plant will not only be state-of-the-art, but also future-proof for decades to come. The scope of the investment is estimated at around €3.7 million.
Last year, 3 new intelligent local network stations were set up in the area and connected to the E.DIS power grid. What is innovative here is the extensive equipment of the new digital stations with communication, measurement and control technology as well as the use of the important data recorded with the new and innovative E.DIS network control system.
