EQOS Energie to modernise Amstatten substation

EQOS Energie has been commissioned to modernise the Amstetten substation, a central component of the power grid of utility provider Stadtwerke Amstetten.
In order to ensure a continued secure power supply for Amstetten’s population of 24,000, additional switchgear must be constructed, existing cables will have to be rerouted and new protective and control technology must be implemented. EQOS Energie Österreich GmbH was commissioned with the implementation of this project worth more than €1 million.
“We will start the initial grounding work for the new construction of the substation as early as this spring,” Uwe Trampnau, Managing Director for the Energy Technology division at EQOS Energie Austria, explained about the procedure for the construction project. The conclusion of this electrotechnical modernisation is planned for the end of 2022.
Jürgen Hürner, director of Stadtwerke Amstetten: “The population in Amstetten enjoys a great quality of life which we would like to further improve. By investing comprehensively in the construction of our own substation, we make a significant contribution to maintaining supply certainty for private customers as well as our town’s businesses.”
