Tyssenkrupp to consider hydrogen production
started a feasibility study to promote climate-friendly hydrogen.
The steel producer
Energy company Equinor and the natural gas transmission system operator Open Grid Europe have started a joint feasibility study into the decarbonised production of “blue” hydrogen, based on natural gas.

The study will also look into ways to supply tyssenkrupp’s steelworks in Duisburg, the largest in Germany, with this hydrogen.
The starting point of the study is the production of hydrogen from natural gas and the permanent offshore storage of the resulting carbon dioxide,
possibly in the context of the Equinor-operated storage project
“Northern Lights” on the Norwegian shelf.
In the study will be several options for the recovery and transport of hydrogen to the
