Dirk Soete takes over as new CEO of R&S Group

Dirk Soete has become CEO of transformer manufacturers R&S Group, taking over the role from Mike Lauper.

The switch is in effect from January 1st, 2020, while Mike Lauper will remain in the company as a consultant.

Dirk Soete has broad international experience, having lived and worked in multiple countries and locations such as Germany, USA, Philippines and China. He brings to the group a vast experience – both operational and managerial – in the electrical industry, especially in the transformers business. Having started as an electrical designer in 1992, Dirk Soete then moved over via sales and business development to P&L responsibility for complete global transformer operations.

As new Group CEO, Dirk Soete will take the responsibility to lead the Group to its vision of being a leading provider of electrical infrastructure products in key markets around the world. He will also further bring together the subsidiary companies to exploit valuable group synergies.

The Swiss-based R&S Group is a leading provider of electrical infrastructure products in key markets around the globe. With manufacturing facilities and offices in Europe, South America and the Middle East, and a wide partner network globally, R&S offers distribution and power transformers, medium and high voltage switching devices as well as certain products for railway electrification and industrial electrical connectors.
