Hyundai Electric & Energy Systems Co. has lost its challenge against U.S. duties on large power transformers.

The U.S. maintains antidumping duties on imports from South Korea of large power transformers, used in high-voltage electrical power transmission systems.

The Commerce Department conducted a periodic duty review covering imports of such transformers that entered the U.S. between August 2016 and July 2017. It calculated a dumping margin and corresponding duty rate of 60.81% for Hyundai’s transformers.
