Italian transformer manufacturer Tironi has successfully tested two 95MVA transformers with a 426/14 kV ratio for a Norwegian hydropower plant.

The transformers, which in the final installation will be equipped with oil / SF6 insulators, were tested with temporary oil / air insulators and the heating test was carried out by connecting them to the water circuit available at TIRONI for the OFWF transformer’s tests.

The Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) was performed both in presence, with a Customer’s consultant here in Modena, and remotely, with the Customer connected to our UHV Test Lab trough the TIRONI REMOTE FAT system.

The first unit has already left the Modena factory and it’s along the road that will take it to Norway where Elettromeccanica Tironi is also in charge of removing, disposing and replacing all the 420kV SF6 busbar and the old units.
